Incorporated in Ontario in November 2005, we have three directors who knew Joseph Chimczuk and/or his wife Anna (Annie) personally.
We decided that, since fifteen years had passed since his death and no action had been taken to build the "Chimczuk Museum"TM (that he so wanted), that we needed to form a "team" to get this finally accomplished.
Over the years the City of Windsor has received applications from various groups, none of which has been successful in obtaining his money, originally $1 Million, now, thanks to the Greater Windsor Community Foundation, (who is handling his bequest), grown to $2.75 Million.
We realize that even this amount of money is far from enough to set up a full-blown museum which would be self-supporting, so we will become associated with other similar groups and seek partnerships with industry, tourism and Provincial/Federal government as well as private interests.
We intend to use the principle of "Reverse Engineering" to achieve success: What do we need to calculate? For example, how large does the facility have to be? What other attractions are needed to draw people of all ages, walks of life and interests? How can we attract visitors from out-of-town and repeat visitors?

Where to locate the facility for access? How many parking spaces are needed? Should the site have other functions e.g. an arena?
Transportation Museum, Science Centre, Imax Theatre, Concert Hall/Auditorium, Exhibition Area, Conference Rooms, Industrial Displays, Motor Shows & Hobby Groups? These are just starting ideas, we are looking for more.
Once we have an idea of the shape of the project, we have to prepare a business plan, to include, for example, food and drink facilities and compatible sales outlets to encourage visits and return visits.

Windsor has no family-orientated destination. Yes, we have the river front, parks etc., but where can you take families or visitors on a wet Saturday afternoon?
Our purpose is to build the "Chimczuk Museum"TM, recognizing that it will have to be part of a larger complex and compatible with Joseph Chimczuk's bequest.
We need a local destination, how about "Destination Windsor"!
Chimczuk Museum Inc. is committed to building the Chimczuk
MuseumTM and finally fulfilling Joe's dreams.
